When did you join Etcetera?

I was an Etcetera customer, so I had personal experience with how much confidence the line could bring women. I had been in a high pressure, fast-paced sales industry for over 15 years. Then, when I got pregnant with our second child, I decided it was time for something with less travel and less stress that still utilized my sales and management skills.

How was it to get started?

The transition was incredibly smooth. Etcetera's training program is extensive, and the consultant website is an amazing reference tool. The management team is very supportive - the follow through is everything you need to be successful, and the environment has made it very clear that my decision to work for Etcetera was the right one.

Have you discovered new hidden talents and skills?

I am definitely getting to tap into my creative side! I have always loved clothes and wardrobing myself, my husband and my friends, and I've found an even greater love for that aspect of the job than I thought I would.

What makes Etcetera different?

I used to shop at malls and various boutiques, but I wasn't able to find an experience where someone helped me or offered a place where I could build a wardrobe. The fact that the line continues to coordinate season to season is worth its weight in gold to me! I actually end up saving money because I WEAR WHAT IS IN MY CLOSET! It really takes the pressure off in the morning to just go to my closet and know what I am putting on looks "pulled together."

What would you say to someone considering joining Etcetera?

For those women looking for a change in careers, Etcetera has so much to offer: being your own boss, flexibility, working in the fashion industry and a proven business model.

The personal flexibility is the most important part of the job for me. I have a young daughter with another on the way, and I can work this job into my family life. I can be a good mom and a successful employee with this business model. It is the most rewarding experience I have had in the work force.
